Humanity is under attack by the bizarre, organic forces of Image, and among those fighting the counter-offensive is the determined yet vulnerable young soldier Renton, who pilots a Nirvash mecha combat suit. Renton is part of the crew of the Gekko—the giant battle-craft of Gekkostate, captained by the legendary Holland Novak—but he is driven by something beyond solidarity with his comrades and the determination to defend Earth. He wants nothing more than to rescue Eureka, the strange green-haired girl he bonded with so long ago, before she was abducted by Image.

In 2005, BONES—the anime team responsible for FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST, RAHXEPHON and WOLF'S RAIN—brought the world the TV series PSALMS OF PLANETS EUREKA SEVEN. While it owed a strong debt in spirit and even some elements to NEON GENESIS EVANGELION (hello, complicated green-haired mecha-pilot girl), EUREKA SEVEN nonetheless had a character of its own, notably the vivid yet judicious injection of “kawaii,” or cuteness—check out the rainbow bubblegum beastliness of the otherworldly menace that Renton confronts in jaw-dropping battle scenes. Again like EVANGELION, which has seen a cinematic renovation recently (check the Fantasia schedule for EVANGELION: 1.0 YOU ARE (NOT) ALONE this year), the EUREKA SEVEN series has been reworked and in broad swaths recreated from scratch to present a newer, better, more exciting and emotionally charged experience for fans and the uninitiated alike.
