Please join us for a special sneak screening of Jaume Collet-Serra's ORPHAN on Wednesday July 22nd at 9:30pm in the Hall Theatre - the latest addition to the ever-popular 'evil child' subgenre that began with the classic 1956 THE BAD SEED and complements our North American Premiere of Tom Shankland's THE CHILDREN on Friday July 24th at 10:15pm in the Hall Theatre (and plays again on Monday July 27th at 7:30pm in the Salle JA de Seve).
Kate Coleman (Vera Farmiga) has recently suffered a traumatizing miscarriage, and is determined to adopt another child to join her two kids. She and her husband John (indie fave Peter Sarsgaard) find the perfect little girl in Esther (talented newcomer Isabelle Fuhrman), but Esther is not all she appears to be - and soon begins to manipulate the family dynamic to her own dark ends. When animals start to show up multilated, it's not long before Esther turns her attention to human prey, and the parents find themselves fighting for their own survival.
