Since its inception in 1996, the Fantasia International Film Festival has been recognized as the largest and most influential event of its kind in North America – a leader in the genre film scene and one of the country’s most popular film festivals. With diverse programming and a focus on the imaginative cinema of Asia, Europe and the Americas, Fantasia’s offerings range from unique and powerful personal visions to international commercial crowd-pleasers rarely seen in North-America.

We are currently gearing up for our 16th edition, which will take place July 19-August 7, 2012 and are looking for energetic, driven individuals who exhibit a diverse knowledge of genre cinema to participate as interns or volunteers in many exciting positions over this summer’s event.

Summer Internships With the Fantasia International Film Festival

The internships positions have now been filled for the 2012 edition. If you would like to intern with us next year, a great introduction to the festival and its inner workings can be found within thevolunteer positions this year.

Volunteer Opportunities

Fantasia being a non-profit organization, the success of our festival has relied on a dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers. We are currently looking for volunteers to help make our 16th edition a memorable experience.

Not only are volunteers are essential to the festival's operations – so you can be very proud of that – being a volunteer at Fantasia means living the festival experience to the outmost, having access to perks like free access to film screenings and volunteer recognition events,and having the chance to get your skills noticed by the festival's team, which may lead to paid positions in the following years.

Here are the positions we are looking to fill this year:

• Community Outreach volunteers (for grassroots and corporate promotion)
• English / French Translators
• Interpretors (especially Asian languages but all specialities can apply)
• Film market and special events attendants (greeting, accreditations assisting, decorating, room maintenance, conferences set-up, video room supervision and scheduling assistance)
• Computer tech support
• Catering volunteers (food preparation / servers / bartenders)
• Carpenters or handymen (preferably with their own tools)
• Drivers (no cars needed, but applicants with nice-looking cars available a big plus)
• Courriers (by bike or car)

If you love genre films, take reliability seriously and want to be involved, we’d love for you to join our team. If you have special skills that are not listedhere but you think could contribute to the festival in a special way, don'thesitate to let us know!
