Following the first wave of our 25th-anniversary screening series this past October, Fantasia is proud to announce the concluding lineup for our December wave, with twice as many films, once again presenting select highlights from across the festival’s history.
Representing the wide spectrum of genres that Fantasia showcases, this retrospective series brings back the unforgettable experiences and award-winning, even paradigm-shifting cinematic moments that the festival is revered for. Included are works from Satoshi Kon, RKSS, Takashi Miike, Marina de Van, Hideo Nakata, Anders Thomas Jensen, Chang Cheh, Sion Sono, and Stuart Gordon. Also, bring your family to the restored version of the classic LE MARTIEN DE NOËL, a crazy holiday comedy from 1971 directed by Bernard Gosselin and starring Marcel Sabourin.
In light of the Imperial Cinema’s temporary closure, all screenings will take place at Concordia’s J.A. de Sève cinema (1400 de, Maisonneuve Blvd W), one of Fantasia’s staple venues since 2003. Best of all, as a gift to Montrealers, admission is free of charge for all screenings.
Please note registration via Eventbrite is required to attend the event (a link to register can be found on each film's page). We will need to scan your Eventbrite QR code (on a mobile device or on paper) at the theatre entrance, so make sure not to lose it! We will also require proof of vaccination (VaxiCode) and a valid government-issued ID. Please arrive in advance.
Presented with the support of the City of Montreal.
Happy holidays!
