FANTASIA PRESENTS THE AWARDS FOR THE FANTASTIQUES WEEK-ENDS OF QUEBEC CINEMA 2024

Wednesday, July 31, 2024 - On Saturday evening, the Fantasia International Film Festival presented the Fantastiques Week-ends du cinéma québécois awards, which celebrate Quebec genre cinema in both short and long formats, during a ceremony at the Cinéma du Musée. This year, the MELS award for best film was given to EXTRAS by Marc-Antoine Lemire, while the ARRQ award for best direction was awarded to Sandrine Brodeur-Desrosiers for BAIL BAIL.

The jury was composed of Marc Béland, actor, dancer, and director (Annie et ses hommes, Toi), Jimmy Larouche, director (Chasseur d’étoiles, Si Larouche m’était contée), and Stéphane Moukarzel, director (Sapin$, Black Friday).
