It's off to a flying start, with a stellar selection of films that perfectly represent the programme in terms of both its diversity and its exceptional quality. Science fiction, comedy, animation, action, martial arts, war, gangster, musical and +++! Here are a few descriptions to whet your appetite…

KTO, a probe equipped with artificial intelligence, is launched towards the star Rigel to make contact with an enigmatic extraterrestrial consciousness. Gus and Lars belong to two enemy factions. In the middle of a war, they find themselves trapped in a school, separated by a common wall. Both out of ammunition, they fight with the first thing they can get their hands on: musical instruments. John is convinced that he has lived on this planet longer than he has been alive. The feeling that he knows more than he sees troubles him deeply. At 8'3", le Géant Beaupré left his mark on his era. Having died too young and far from home in 1904, his journey as a phenomenon had only just begun. In an astonishing series of twists and turns, it would take his mummified body more than 80 years to find its way back home. Haunted by memories, a young street dealer feels trapped in a life of crime and dreams of leaving it all behind to escape to a chance of freedom. Two smugglers in a modified rally car transport an unwitting hostage across a disputed border.
