Now deep into drug-soaked Golden Triangle, Kang, who must rebuild his empire at all costs, bonds with the ambitious local military leader. The mole’s superior officer elects to plunge deep into the action to save his underling.
Lock and load for this explosive action extravaganza, a standalone sequel with all new characters directed by a master of exploitation cinema, Herman Yau (EBOLA SYNDROME, IP MAN - THE LEGEND IS BORN). Yau has directed, produced, and photographed over 100 films, many which are seminal classics that shaped Hong Kong cinema. THE WHITE STORM 3 stars three of the biggest HK icons — Aaron Kwok (the MONKEY KING trilogy) and Johnnie To regulars Louis Koo (DRUG WAR, ELECTION) and Lau Ching-Wan (last year’s DETECTIVES VS SLEUTHS and a guest of honour during Fantasia’s early years) in a rare turn as the main baddie buzzing with volatile charm and craziness. A non-stop barrage of truly jaw-dropping gunfight action, THE WHITE STORM 3 moves at high velocity and is ready to ignite Fantasia’s screen the same week it opens in Hong Kong and rest of the world. – King-Wei Chu
